Welcome to our very first activity check! I've decided we'll be having 12 of these a year, which means once a month. Each activity check will last one week long. Members who have posted in the Intros & Departures sub-board are excused from the activity check if they have informed us that they'll be gone during the duration that the activity check lasts. The Guardians account does not need to reply to this thread. Members who join The Rift while the activity check is being held do not have to reply. You must reply to this thread, using the code given, with your username, your screen name, and your most recent role-playing post. Members who have not replied to the activity check without informing us of their absence will be deleted, as well as members who still have a post count of 0 by the end of the activity check. Comments: Good idea on these being held every month. It keeps our members pruned.
I have a concern, however. Our member count is pretty good for the site age, but the roleplaying activity is rather low.
To spruce it up, what if we do some funky weather when it turns summer time? (summer at rift starts June 1st!)
It could be like, formidable drought-will-be-here-soon weather.
The prey could all scurry to one certain territory (a pack's land) and cause tensions among other packs.
Example:
All prey is scurrying to Pack1's territory because it has favorable conditions for them.
All other packs are pissed at Pack1.
-shrug-
It could be anything. I'd just like to see some more roleplay activity, and I think something like that could spark up more mini-plots, more interest in the site...
All around good for us.
P.S:
After some additional thought, if I were you, I wouldn't /immediately/ delete members that don't post here in the one-week time.
I don't mind killing off the 0 post members, but already 'established' people that have talked actively on the Cbox, have roleplayed, made themselves known pretty much...instead of being deleted, they should be notified.
Why? Because something might have happened for them to not be able to get on the computer in the one week time. It'd suck to be a member of a site and come back one day with your account deleted.
Instead of deleting them, you should email them (if possible), tell them they're at risk for deletion in the next one to two weeks.
If they don't reply or make no move to become more active, go ahead and delete them.
Why do I want this? Several times in my area, we have been struck by storms/high winds, and it's knocked out our power for sometimes upwards of a week. Because they're so sudden, people don't have the opportunity to get on and tell us that hey, they might not be seen in a few days.
So I was wanting to protect those who might have things like that happen.

 it sucks that I'm the co-admin of this site, and yet only two members have ever really come across me. I'm sorry for not really being around, but I'm living on Aus time, and when I have most free time on the computer, most of you guys are all in bed!
Also, I'm living at a horse stud for the moment (its yet to be decided when I shall return home) and OH BOY is there a lot of work to be done! I don't get wireless here, so when I am on, I'm on the owners computer... Which feels a bit intrusive.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that this period is definitely the least active you will ever see me, I can assure you

Also, I'm glad you won't be deleting members right after the activity check, because these last two days I've been extremely busy with not having school now, so I now what it's like to not have time to get on...but, at the same time, you've gotta be fair and look at it this way: if you join a site, you should have a commitment.
