Parlae had missed the pack meeting, and with it the fight. From what she had heard it seemed Dragula had finally shown his true colors. The one eyed beauty had never been fond of the shaggy maned brute, partially because she thought he was a phony. But by the sounds of it, the pack pretty much allienated him, and since the meeting he had not been seen. There was no doubt in her mind that he was off sulking somewhere. Parlae could honestly care less if he never did come back. He caused tension to Nara, and well caused a lot of civil unrest. The reddish black wolf shook her pelt as she padded down to the slow moving water. A low rumble echoed in her stomach as she licked her chops. Parlae was an interesting female, with a interesting look. She looked like a normal grey wolf, reddish black in color, but had some odd attributes. For one she was missing an eye. She had lost her eye during a hunting accident when she was younger, and very naive to how dangerous large game could be. The second off addition was her lack of a tail. Her tail looked like that of a lynxs... barley there. It sometimes made it had for her to communicate with others, for you could not read any signal that her tail may have provided.
Nonetheless she was a very kind wolf. Her image made her somewhat hard to approach, but once you got used to seeing her, you saw past her less than attractive features. Parlae was a gentle, generally easy going wolf, who hardly took offense to most. As she reached the water her golden orb began searching it for the game her stomach was currently screeching for. She grinned a she spotted an average size trout in the water. She slowly crept into the water, the cool liquid creeping up her sides, and engulfing her pistons. Parlae stood ever so still, as she waited to the fish to come back and explore the new sticks that had entered his home. When the greenish colored swimmer got right before her front pistons, she shot her head straight down. Water shot up her nose bute her jaws felt the vibration of the fish and she snapped. Her jaws penetrating the scaly monster easily. Parlae whipped her head up and shook. She held her prize tightly as she walked back to the bank. Once a good ways away from the water she dropped the trout, and shook the water free from her pelt. Once satisfied that she was no longer dripping wet, she picked up the fish and trouted over to a flat rock.
She hopped up on the flat rock and lowered her body down on the warm stone. She dropped the fish between her mitts, and began to pull the scales off. Once that knasty job was taken care of she began to devour her prize. She kept her one eye alert, and her auds did not dare rest. Although safe within her pack lands, never meant a potential threat had not snuck into the borders.

With complete disregard to one’s own safety the usually cowardly Jare had set foot in his neighbor’s packlands with full knowledge of the consequences a rival wolf may encounter upon meeting the pack’s natives however he was on official business here and was requested personally to deliver some roots that had grown around the rougher regiments of the river which happened to be in the center of Torrid packlands – a place where very few wolves were granted permission to enter. It was a treacherous path he was required to take to get there sooner rather than later but seeing as it was a pleasant day where the seemingly gentle currents of the river were mostly at peace he thought it safe enough to follow the quickest route along the riverside.
His jet black paws patted gently beneath him as he set his pace to a comfortable trot, his tongue lolling uncaringly from his mouth though his eyes and ears were very much on the lookout for the slightest sign of trouble. He made sure to carry the riverweed at the back of his mouth, trailing its mineral-laden greens from the corner of his mouth as to make sure not a single bit fell to the rocky ground beneath him. He had been walking for almost an hour when he was decidedly out of his homelands and into the oblivion where he had quite some trouble finding his footing on the unfamiliar terrain. He recalled briefly that the place he was in was called ‘kolenya’ or ‘coughing fish’ as this was the place connecting the two lands from the moment they stepped out of the roughages. He grumbled quietly to himself and lowered his head as he walked.
He was about fifteen minutes into the Souselands before he caught scent of any other creature besides himself and the fish. It was distinctively canine though mingled with the fresh scent of fish and blood. An appetizing combination due to the fact that the canine he was smelling was decidedly female… no interest in rivals was to be shown at the point. The Maned wolf came into view of her soon enough, she was ebony in color and obviously somewhere along the lines a grey wolf however you sometimes couldn’t tell in this day in age. She was hunting so naturally she would be on her guard for predators and scavengers. There was no way around it now, he was unsure of where the den was anyway so maybe he could drop these off for her to bring back without him setting them at unease. He lowered his head and tail once more and huffed a low greeting to her from several meters away. To startle a wolf was to threaten it and he would rather not here anyway.
Dropping the green weeds at his feet he gazed up at her facial features surprised to see she was missing an eye though I t didn’t bother him… it just made him assume she was a warrior.
“I don’t mean to disturb but I was asked to bring some rough weeds from up river. I’m the resident Shaman from the Torrids, Jareniah.” He straightened his shoulder somewhat and anticipated her response.

Parlae had been content consuming her small meal, and the cool breeze that was now ruffling her dark locks, when the brutes scent hit her nose. The one eyed beauty tended to shy away from males, especially in the condition she was in right now. To be honest you just couldnt trust the bastards, and the scent was foriegn, even more unnerving. She trusted most of the males in her pack, well actually she only trusted one... Haze. The dark minx didnt know Hali yet, and well Dragula.. she didnt put much past the bi-polar mutt. Though as she contimplated bolting, the strange male appeared meters away. She couldnt run now, it would be a foolish mistake. No, now she had to front, play the big bad one eyed wolf card.. bah. Parlae was not at all vicious, or intimidating, no she was rather kind and affectionate. However, her hormones were raging at this given point, and well she had to front in order to keep herself safe. As soon as he drew closer she got to her feet, and stood proud on her rock now covered in fish guts and blood. Her lip quivered slightly, showing hints of her pearly whites, as her stub of a tail became rigid, proclaiming her domance over the stranger, and indeed he was strange. He remsembled Dragula in a sense, though he was not black like Dragula, and well for once she could say she had seen a slightly thinner brute than the dark menace. Her daggers toyed with the rocky surface as she lowered her head protecting her vain and let out a low growl of warning. A growl telling this brute that if he tried anything funny, she'd rip his small head of his limby body.
When he spoke her auds flicked, an obvious sign she cared to hear what he was saying. Although she was not brave, she was curious, which often fooled most into thinking she was unfearful. She was somewhat intrigued that the brute had been sent to them, though this seemed more like something Nara should be dealing with and not Parlae. However, the wolf amused her slightly, so why not toy for a bit, no harm in that. "Oh" she said simply, letting the words mesh in her mind. When he began to ramble on about his title, where he was from, and his name, she gave him a confused look. Never in her life had she heard someone simply rattle off their credentials. Wasnt like Parlae was going to ask for an id. "Why do you rattle off your credentials." she blurted her curiousity getting the best of her. She never claimed to be a sly with her words, nope.. quite honestly she was dorky with them. "Nara is who you need.. " Parlae responded. She wasnt quite sure how to deal with the stranger, she never had before. Perhaps Haze could help her. So with one wary look to the brute, she howled. Haze would surley know what to do, being a warrior and what not.
The one eyed beauty kept her guard up, before deciding to sit down once more. She thought it was a much better way to keep herself safe. Today had been a good day, and she didnt want to end it with being forcebred.. that would be bad. She had enough problems without adding a crushed ego, and a round belly to the mix.

~ The borders were barren, devoid of anything but critters of pray and the howling winds of the elements. It was how it all should be, Indeed. It meant that the storm was just to come. For right now, all was quiet. Haze was not a old hound as he was without knowing that in this certain situation the Souse was in. Well, everything was on the line. His alabaster mass was slowly creeping about the trees, going towards the river in his own little debate of games. Mind twisting around ideas that he could not say he could grasp. For one thing was certain, the alpha, Haze was now following was more than he thought. She was practically a goddess... Hmpf.
Would not change his plans completely. Nara only played a big part now, Regardless... Haze kept his little patrol. Ears flicking towards all matter of sounds as he picked his way through.
Then his ears were teased with a howl. One that had a tone that seemed to whine towards him more than others. The voice was familiar, yet Haze was slightly aloof the past few days. Working out plans and problems that could ruin such. Regardless, the insight came to him as he neared the river. Parlae, Indeed indeed... The one eyed femme had a special place in Haze's plans and dare say even heart. She was simple and effective, deceptive yet on a smaller scale. Something the Younger Haze would have scoffed at for being to weak. Yet, being how he was now. Haze saw the worth in it, in so he had no problems with heeding her call. He was a warrior was he not? A sentry, a Guardian, a Guard, a trusted paw. All which should never be said of him should it be wise.
Now, He entered the view of the river, and only behind the intruder who assaulted his nostrils a moment before his entrance. When the tantalizing scent of Parlae hit him though, well... Haze felt oddly challenged by this intruder's presence. Yet, He sucked his instincts down and chuckled. Laughing at himself, the trees, the brute who was trying to enter Souse. He began to walk, closer to the pair working to pass the brute and place himself between the brute and Parlae. Panting laughter the entire way. Eyes bursting with amusement. " Well well, I did hear a call... yet, why are you here? Indeed indeed. " His voiced slithered from his muzzle. Eyes focused on the brute.
Haze then took a glance towards Parlae, amused to see her standing so defiantly despite how he knew her. Regardless, Haze respected the femme. No matter if she was missing an eye or not. That did not burden her, and for that she had Haze's respect. Strength was in that little concept. Odd as it was.
Now his attention turned back towards the intruder. Stance and posture cocky and defiant. He was not an alpha, yet it never hurt to be mistaken. Even now, Haze's amber gaze drilled into the supposed torrid wolf. His scent oddly dry and smokey. He needed an answer, and if the intruder did not speak. Well, Haze had his methods.

His coffee brown eyes watched her with interest as she turned to him and bared her ivories at him guarding, a natural reaction expected of a female at this tender time. He wasn’t going to deny he could smell it but it was hardly like he was actually going to do anything about it. An out-of-pack pregnancy would do nothing but damage his reputation and disrupt the peace between the packs… plus, she was a good deal larger than he was so there was a very slim chance that he would be able to overrule her quite so easily. His expression changed swiftly to an emotionless stare until he broke contact from her and moved away from the reeds respectfully to stand with his tail low but not quite submissive with a hunched stature. Not quite so threatening anymore… this is perhaps just why the packs weren’t at ease with each other. Each of them was trying to ruffle the other up.
“Why you ask? Isn’t it polite to introduce yourself when entering terrain that does not belong to you? I would ask yours but I guess we’re getting a little too personal here.” His nostrils flared as he searched for the scents he was trying to avoid, especially other wolves. Any normal male wolf upon seeing an intruder would not pause to ask why or what he was doing as their methods of removing those who strayed were… dismal. Judging from her stance he was sure for now that she was probably not the Alpha female but perhaps a higher rank than others and once speaking the name of this ‘Nara’ he assumed it was she who ruled the pack. He lifted his head slowly and closed his eyes to listen to the smooth tones of the wolf call, instinct told him to join in to tell them where he was but he restrained himself in fear of being outcaste permanently. He waited patiently for her to finish and stayed rooted as she made herself ‘comfortable’. He huffed once more in a low chuckle before speaking again. “Nara may it be, but I would find it tiresome to search your homeland for her not knowing where your den is. I as a single wolf don’t seek to make trouble with your pack but if the situation arises I would have to betray your pack to my own if we came searching.” It could be noted now that despite his slender frame he had a deep throaty voice which was laced with what seemed like sarcasm though it may not have been intended.
It took not long for the other to show up. This time it was a male reeking of testosterone among other things. A less intelligent animal would dare to mock his intimidating yet big-brother like greeting but Jare was not that brave. He knew just how to keep his head perched on his shoulders. He avoided catching the brute’s eye until he addressed him personally and even then it was a fleeting glance. That was all he needed. Jare knew turning his back would leave him open for attack so he decidedly positioned himself facing his route home with his head still looking in the general direction of the couple.
“Business as usual. Hardly worth calling attention to the warriors for… Heh, you really think I could take down a pack on my own? Nope, these are a small gift from the Torrids. It only grows up river for some reason… helps calm the stomach for bitches during parturition. Thought they might be useful that’s all. Don’t take them if you don’t want them.” He grinned harmlessly towards the two.

Parlae scoffed when he spat the reply at her. Well he didnt spit it, but it did linger with a bit of sarcasim, that she did sense. Her calm demeanor soon changed and she began to get slightly irritated. Could be due to her being in heat, and slightly over sensitive, but she didnt care. "Your name yes, your rank and pack, I could careless." she said her golden orb looking straight at him. The obvious irritation was coming off her like flowing water. She lept from her rock, becoming far more brave than she first appeared. Parlae wasnt know for her aggressive ways, but in the past she had let her Hide show every once in a while. "You have no need to know my name brute. I am simply the wolf that took your message, nothing more." she said with a sly grin. The grin and obvious sign that her mind was twisting some thought. When he spoke of Nara, her lips peeled back. " You are too funny stranger. Do you think I'm going to make your job easier by telling you where are den is located... hah." she mocked. "That I will not do." she said. Her auds soon swiveled back as she heard another wolf coming up to the two. Parlae could only assume that it was Haze. Soon enough his scent greeted her nares, and she smile. His scent was comforting, made her feel safe once more.
At his presence her stub of a tail wagged slightly in a greeting. She had been about to say something to him, but then Haze spoke to the other male. Parlae simply moved so that she was about a foot to his left, her golden orb watching the stranger for any sly moves. Parlae may not be the dominant one of the three, but she would have Haze's back if so needed. She wasnt afraid of conflict, she just preffered to mind her own business, less drama that way. Her auds perked forward when the stranger addressed Haze. When the smaller slender brute mocked her, she snarled, her teeth now fully exposed as her hair began to bristle. It was her choice to call Haze, and it wasnt because he was a warrior.. no. She had called him because he was of a higher rank than herself, and knew how to handle stranger who were not nomadic. "Why dont you keep those opinions to yourself, Slim." she said bitterly. Parlae did not like those who were a disrespectful smart ass.
Parlae couldnt help but to smirk when he mentioned what the roots were for. There was no bitches here due to whelp, hell to Parlae's knowledge no one planned to either. With in the entire pack their was not one mated pair. There alpha was solo, and thus the rest of the pack was as well. "We have no need for such a herb." Parlae said her temper somewhat cooling. What could she say these mood swings were a bitch.

~ Haze was amused, no doubt. Eying the intruder critically as he pondered the situation. Only breaking his gaze to glance at Parlae, inwardly amused at just how outspoken she was being. He did not miss how close she seemed to be towards him. Off at an angle, he knew he was being a defensive wedge. Yet, Parlae was clsoer than he expected. Regardless, it was her scent that was driving him to such conclusions. Now, he had to deal with an intruder who had wit. Interesting Indeed.
The use of the herbs was not important. Should this be any other time, they would be taken kindly. A herb that could be a life saver for weaker femmes of such, that or simple a much needed relief. Yet, now... since Souse was the place to be. The main hub of prey during the up an coming drought. Well, even a small token of kindness will have to be repayed.
" As Parlae said Indeed, No need. Your gesture is noted it is... Yet, this is not all your here for hmm? " Haze curled a smirk, non-welcoming for any hidden agendas. " If this is all, I warn you to be back to your lands Indeed. Even Torrid knows the tension that is growing it is. Careful! We do not want allies to be hurt in mis-understandings. " Haze finished, eyes ringing amusement as he watched the intruder for any sly moves. The brute has already established himself as a smart-ass. Something he had to be careful and just as sly with. Yet, Haze was not the fastest with wit, just a good plotter.
Which brought him back to Parlae, Trying to remember what he could of the femme. She was certainly risky at times, yet has always hid herself in kindness. As he knew, Kindness was a good trait. Something Haze would attempt at, yet was content with having hidden beneath his arrogant actions. Tough love so to speak, sine not until the wolf was safe would they realize who had the play in helping them. Regardless, Haze enjoyed how things were going. Rather content with Parlae's presence here. He was not afraid of the maned Intruder, being much bigger and possibly wiser. Regardless, Haze did not throw aside advantages... for this was indeed a big on on his side.
He had a cranky femme in heat on his side... Nothing more dangerous that that. A inward chuckle at the thought.
" Good day, if that be all. Indeed " Haze repeated, feeding off of the irritation that seeped from Parlae. Haze never had a love for intruders. Well, intruders of the non-nomad type, for all of them thought they were higher than hell in enemy lines. Haze would be no different, yet at least he did not call out the pack when there was no need.

“Easy, easy.” He purred boredly towards the agitated female. It bothered him very little that she was so uptight about his arrival but was slowly starting to get irritated with her hostile nature when he did little else than offer good tidings. The male seemed to understand some more than she however he didn’t seem to be the outwardly violent type unless it was Jare that made the first move. Shrugging his high shoulders in a very un-wolf-like fashion he watched tiredly up at the large male. This is the type of situation that would bring only harm if one decided to attack, Jare would be in trouble for trespassing and assault to another wolf and this grey wolf would be in trouble for attacking him without suitable grounds to stand upon as he did nothing but present a small token of good nature. It was as you would call it… touché?.
“If I had come here on any other grounds then you would probably think I would take a more subtle path, no?” He finished and dampened his lips lightly with his pink tongue before dipping his head and smiling humbly. “It seems my presence has caused a little stir… such a shame, I apologize for my decision to come here and thus I will take my leave.” He turned tail and lazily started padding in the opposite direction from the river flow, back towards the Torrid lands. “Adieu my friends.” He chirped cheerfully as he left, an air of disappointment clinging to him that he didn’t get a little bit more fun before they started getting nasty. He left the weed there on purpose in case they changed their minds. It wasn’t good to take back a gift and upset the good feelings they had drawn out of each other today. Hm… it was summer already too fast. Perhaps it was time to find his own little belle.
[[ On you go guys, I think this would leave a nice talking point for you to continue on with ^_^ ]]

Parlae soon began to relax as Haze took control. For some reason it relieved the tension she felt, lifted a weight off her shoulders. Parlae was never one to be comfortable being in charge of others, or looked to for answers. No the one eyed fae perffered to be a follower, to have someone else guide her. Maybe that was why she felt so comfortable with Haze, he took it upon himself to be the leader. Her eyes looked over at the brute as he once again said more than he needed to, which was begining to cause the uncomfortable minx a headache. Though the moment he padded away, she relaxed a bit more. "Thanks Haze." she muttered happily. She was pleased with the fact that when a warrior was called they appeared. In her childhood pack this often just wasnt the case. It was nice to see that Haze had dedication to his job. She smirked at him before padding back over to the cool stream, her pelt was pratically on fire. The black hue was really unpleasent in these warm summer months. She walked into the water, letting it get to the deepest part of her pelt, before playfully prancing around in it before shooting Haze a grin.
"So how was the meeting?" Parlae asked before pawing at the bottom of the stream. Her daggers stirring up young tadpoles and playfully chasing after them, before crushing them into the dirt. One might think she was merely doing this for fun, but the fact of the matter was this little excercise helped her stay on top of her hunting skills. Having one eye made it somewhat difficult to keep track of fast moving game, but this helped stimulate her to be able to read there movements better. "Sorry I missed it.. I was uh, preoccupied." Parlae spoke. Which was the truth, she had been busy doing other things, not to mention she wasnt feeling too good that day. Parlae dipped her head under the water, getting her entire crania soaked, before shaking her entire pelt. "So whats this nonesense about Dragula I've been hearing?" she asked wanting to get the true facts. Haze never exagerated or lied, so she knew she could get an honest answer.

~ Watching the Torrid brute walk away was a relieving matter at best. Possibly because the brute was in his lands? Being cocky enough to go near one of Souse's femmes, especially when she was... compromised? Regardless, it was a weakness of Haze's, something he would never say outright. But the fact that he was indeed awfully loyal to his connected Pack, that also extended to the wolves. Which, Haze must say... was a darling little weakness that was always welcomed by Alphas. Himself included, cause once upon a time. The alabaster male was an alpha once.
Regardless, Haze stretched. Now not threatened by another brute who. Come to say, was challenging Haze in his lazy movements. Now though, Haze was just listening to Parlae, nodding to her thanks as he bounded to a rather nice rock. Overlooking the surrounding area while being close enough to the femme so he could hear. His amber eyes still glowed with amusement, more so as he watched the femme attempt to 'cool down' such a burden really. Being handicapped with a black coat, and one eye. Yet, that only heightened his respect.
" It was, delightful indeed. " His voice rang with a obvious sarcastic tone as he watched Parlae from his perch. Eying how she uprooted the tadpoles and followed them as they swam away aimlessly. Haze would have thrown it away as careless play. Yet, from nearly loosing his right eye himself. A scar there in testimony that he was nearly half blind himself. Well, he saw the use it had for her. Grinning at the resourceful thinking and honing the femme was willing to undergo. He caught the grin before hand, and was rather pleased to find at least one ally in a pack that saw him as he was.
Now he only grinned and nodded slightly at her confession. Amber eyes, which were nearly overwhelming in their amusement. The orbs darting about occasionally in his unconscious protective nature. As much went with his older brother Kale. Which he though he killed once, yet... that black brute was to clever and stoic to die so easily.
Regardless, the peaceful day. Glowing with the piercing heat of the snarling sun. It was rather tainted by Parlae's understandable question. Haze's lips peeling back from their faux ivory,a small snarl at the memories more than the femme., for which he stopped it quickly. Not wishing to send the wrong message. " It was... Interesting Indeed! For you see, Drag has decided to forsake Nara and the pack he has... So sad... Regardless, we all have assignments now we do. Best that you go to Nara when you can Parlae, would hate to see you under her wrath for not knowing. " Regardless, Haze knew Nara was too kind a creature to go off on any unless pushed. Much as she showed with Drag when he practically broke her heart. Haze might like to tease others and play mind games, Yet Drag stepped beyond him and attacked what man consider dear. Sad.
Yet, now. haze sat there, his tail slowly swiping across the ground. Glad to just get one moment of respite from whatever being a warrior meant. Before he knew it, Haze would have to be training that new recruit. Plans for him were forming... he had quite the future. Yet, Now Haze's attention was or Parlae, pondering exactly what his plans were for her. She was a rather gray item in all of it. For he could not come up with one spot or another. Mainly since he has yet to see the femme in anything other than events like it.
Indeed indeed.
