better late than never, my introduction!

Yupp, as the title says ^^ better late than never.

Anyways....I do believe I've met enough people that I should probably introduce myself formally now xD After all, I love this site so much and it's fun to come to TR every day and get greeted by everyone!

To start off with, I have three usernames/names I go by online: Dusty [which you all know me by], Maya, and Rainsey. Rainsey is actually a unique combination of my first and last name, my first name being Rainah, pronounced 'Reyna'. My favorite color is green, any shade! Mostly lime green, like this =] I also like soft, pastel colors. The colors of ice cream, as Patronize says!

I'm from Arizona. I've lived and grown up in Phoenix all of my life and kept the same traditions as my family, going to the same schools, except the highschool. I'm at Greenway High School and I just finished my freshman year, whew! -wipes sweat off forehead-

I spend my summers in Flagstaff, Arizona at my cabin, where it's much cooler. I've got sooo many friends I can't keep track of them all, online and real world [as I call it]. Some people say I'm down to earth, but I don't really know, I just know I like to be outgoing. I'm a nerd at heart, I love reading and English, Shakespeare, computers, anime & manga, roleplaying, spending time with family & friends, and listening to music. Most of the music I listen to is alternative. My favorite bands are Madina Lake and The Maine.

My goals at life: to be a veterinarian and become a part-time author. I'm actually working on a book now. I live in a fantasy world by listening to music & reading. I like to pretend I'm somehow magical. One day I'm a vampire, the next I'm a faery! Haha, sometimes because of this I get told I'm spontaneous - but, at first, I'm a little shy.

So with me wanting to be a vet, I have to take 8 years of college -gasps- I'll be attending Northern Arizona State University [NAU] in Flagstaff for my first 4 years of college, perhaps trying summer school or online classes, then I'll head over to Colorado and attend Colorado State University for my veterinary training. Currently, I'm shadowing a veterinarian 20 miles in town [my cabin is 20 mi. out of Flagstaff] and I run a pet sitting/walking service =] I just love animals....which reminds me, I vote Asake our site pet, since we have a site mascot!

On the topics of animals, I have one pet: my cat Tiger. He'll be 14 this year, and he's not old. I can get him to stand on his hind legs and box, but he's like any other cat: lazy and only asks for attention when they want it. He loves tuna and peanut butter. I used to have 2 hermit crabs, but they died [not suited well for AZ xD] and I also have had two beta fish: Baby and Spirit. They both died...and I buried them in my backyard xD I never flush fishes down the toilet! My best friend who lives in North Carolina is Brianna, and she has waaay more pets than me, but one of her cats is technically my cat. I named him when he was a kitten, because two of his siblings died. His name is Wish, and he's a trouble maker just like his mommy -beams-. But the name comes from 'wish upon a shooting star', because his deceased siblings probably have a star of their own in the sky now.

Umm, personality wise, I'm shy and spontaneous like mentioned before, a teensy bit sarcastic, and I can be a bit of a tomboy. Things that would freak out some other girl don't bug me one bit. I absolutely hate spiders, though -shivers- and lightning, and driving next to diesel trucks . I warn you, also...I do have a very short attention span, so if I ever happen to disappear or answer a question, in the cbox, perhaps, late...don't worry, it's just another one of my infamous disappearing acts.

Speaking of cars...I won't be getting one, with the way the economy is. My family just can't afford it, but if any of you want to get me one, I'd like a Dodge Dakota, lol xD I don't think any of you should, though...I go over the speed limit, and my uncle is a cop! My birthday is October 5th, so right now I'm fifteen. I don't much like getting on the topic of race, religion, or political beliefs...so if that happens around here and I get quiet, you know why.

Psh, Jesus the Vampire beats all vampires AND lycans, Asake.
And I have reasons to back up why he is a vampire too, so don't say that he isn't.


Anyway Dusty, glad you posted an intro! Very descriptive. ^^
The dog walking/babysitting service sounds rather spiffy, actually. Especially the dogwalking part- a lot of people say you should walk your dogs a certain way, being you at the front and them being at your side/behind you.
Shows them that you're the pack leader, which is rather cool. Animal psychology ftw.

So I was wondering if you do that. xD


But being a vet sounds very cool.
To get you more experience in the animal field, have you ever volunteered at places such as animal shelters, animal rescue groups, etc.?
The animal shelter that is by me lets you volunteer if you're above fourteen.
Granted, you probably won't get to work with the animals directly, but there's always jobs to do like paperwork and laundry and cleaning cages (laundry is a big one).

As for volunteering, Patron, I'm working on it. Most places where I live only allow you to volunteer/work when you're sixteen, that's why I'm so lucky to have found a veterinarian to let me shadow him. I'm glad you like the sound of my dog services =] I usually keep to walking the dog by my side...I kind of like to stay on the same level as the animal, you know? Let them see that I'm their friend, not just some person taking them for a walk.
