Halifax flinched as something cold landed on his back, ducking as one sploshed between his eyes. It seemed as though a river was falling piece by piece from the sky, the drops far bigger than any he had ever seen. Having been watching Nara so closely, he had observed the strange altering of her eyes, but could not bring himself to put that and the unusual rain together. Such a thing, to him, was unheard of - a wolf commanding the weather like that. His jaw ached from been clamped so tightly shut, a desperate attempt at stopping himself from reacting to the self-pitying pup's spiteful words to his Alpha. What Nara could and could not tolerate, he guessed, was up to her. Perhaps he should never have stopped Dragula... - No, that would not have been possible. Nothing in the world could not have doused his rage at that point.
It distressed Halifax to see his Alpha - though she had only officially been his just a few minutes - so distraught. Her words, though fairly level, seemed to be splitting at the seams, wavering slightly at times. Halifax tried to put himself in Dragula's shoes, tried to imagine how beating down upon Nara, seemingly his only companion among the pack, could be justified. The only thing he could imagine was that Haze's comment had perhaps driven the young male into trying to convince the others he was not that hung up on Nara. Frankly, the way he had been acting before was far more attractive than how he was acting now. Childishly shooting down everything anybody had to say to him, picking fights with nearly every member of the pack. Halifax did not want to fight him, and never would. Though it appeared Dragula thought otherwise, taking every opportunity to throw a hateful comment under Halifax's name.
Lapsing back into an observing silence, he watched Dragula intently, trying to make sense of him. The scene, should he detach himself from it, reminded him rather of a cornered fox, snapping its jaws and raising its shackles in final attempt to hold off the enclosing hunters. Frowning, he wondered about the pup's upbringing, his history. What had he endured to become the wolf his was today, to become so reliant on others' opinions that he would put on such a show just to convey to the pack his lack of respect for the once-admired Alpha? To beat down their judgments? Why did he care so? It was a puzzle that Halifax was unsure he would ever fully piece together.
At last, the fifth member of the gathering appeared. Halifax still did not know what to make of the bi-coloured female, and it seemed she almost intended it to be so. Her words were always neutral, her looks empty and without hint of the thoughts behind them. Something about her was a little unsettling, but at the same time, she played to be kind enough. For the moment, Halifax reserved judgment, not absolutely taken with the female, but not disliking her either. Her attempt at comforting Nara seemed genuine at least, that was a start.
"I'm sorry, Dragula." Halifax said the words before he even thought about them, surprising even himself. Was he sorry? Perhaps he was. "Maybe I should not have jumped you from behind like that.. Perhaps it was a matter involving only you and the Alpha, and I was wrong to intervene. Whether you choose to accept or not, I do apologize."

~ Well, He tried. Effort was always a valiant thing when you think about it. Yet, born and raised in a land where... magic was never thought of. Where wolves held nothing but their fur and fangs. Seeing his newer Alpha do something unthinkable. Actually bend the weather to her will... well it was capable of striking something. A emotion Haze tried to produce occasionally, Awe... if not fear.
Haze was in Awe, yet he kept his emotions hidden beneath a analyzing defense. Ready to throw himself into a brawl should the pup which is Drag try and attack the godlike Alpha. Yet Mentally... Haze was redrawing his plans completely. This power caused such a change that Haze was back at square one, his priorities changing and becoming more acute. Hali now played a bigger part... Nara has just gained Haze's complete respect. No wolf since Ryder has caused such respect from Haze. Now she did, A femme who could call down torrents of rain.
Even so, Haze was now in charge of her potential chosen, So Haze crept beside Hali. Listening with a grin as he spoke an unneeded apology towards drag. Haze just clicked his tongue, shaking his head as he flashed his amber eyes towards the brute. A cocky and roguish smile as he looked back at Drag. " He be bringing this upon himself Indeed. " Haze smirked, yet kept his voice low. Yet, as his eyes rested on Nara again... Haze lost all cockiness which nearly turned into being humble before it got sidetracked into respect. Haze was superstitious... and now that he has seen a power which has only been dreamed of in lands elsewhere. Haze would do himself no good should he cross the Alpha. No, He just had to play his game with a bit more tact was all.
Regardless, the center of attention was Drag now. Haze was rather amused to find that the brute was willing to throw away everything for his ragged pride. A cowardly move in itself, since truthfully... only a coward fears what he does not like. A coward shirks away when things do not go his way. Yet, this is Haze's opinion. Maybe Drag was being brave to go against an entire pack this time.
Nah, It was just foolish and self-destructive...

Dragula kept his guard up, enduring what Nara called a hard truth. Perhaps it was his fault no one liked him, but then again, was she suggesting he change himself to please others? Dragula never would, look where it had gotten him. He had attempted to change, to let someone in,and stop trying so hard to keep others out. But this had all come back to slap him in the face, Nara was no friend of his, no he was her puppet. He was their when she needed him, and at the first chance she had gotten she had betrayed him in a sense. He wasnt asking for favortism, but for her to take the side of a brute she had known maybe and hour, over his own was pathetic. The maned brute would not be know as her little pet any longer, wasnt worth it if in the end he didnt even have her loyalty. "Maybe it is. But I rather be hated for who I am, then be loved for the mask I put on." Dragula replied the tension in his body slowly letting up. Dragula may have been foolish to stand up to her, but he wanted her to realize that he wasnt afraid too. Nara thoughts she could be his conditional friend, and well Dragula was quickly showing her other wise. When she told Haze he could use him as a punching back for Hali, he snarled. Some friend of his she was. It was obvious now that hurt flashed in his bi-colored orbs. At this his auds pinned in a different fashion and he stepped away from her. Apparently Dragula had underestimated her, and falsly trusted her... she didnt give a shit about him. "Maybe thats all im good for." The maned brute muttered trying not to let the hurt surface.
His only friend, the only person in the pack he trusted had just thrown him to the wolves. Well good riddance then, he didnt need to encircle himself with these types. Perhaps he would seek out another pack that liked him for him, and didnt consider him a disposable pack member. Dragula snapped from his thoughts as he heard Hali's voice. The brute was apologizing to him, and as much as Dragula wanted to call him a kiss ass, he couldnt help but hear the sincerity in his voice. "Doesnt matter." was his only response. His anger had gotten the best of him, and now well.. he might as well go back to his nomadic life away from those he hoped to trust. He had a new found respect for Haze, was indifferent about Siyl, hated Hali, and was crushed by Nara. Dragula ignored Haze's words and instead backed away from the rest of them. Dragula slowly turned on his heels and slunk off into the trees. At the moment the maned brute wanted to be alone with his thoughts, wanted to make a decision about his future. For at the moment Dragula felt like he didnt belong here anymore. He just hoped that whatever the pull was between Nara and Hali ended well for Nara's sake. She deserved someone who stood up for her, someone far more stable, and well he just wanted her to be happy. Even as her friend Dragula would never be what she wanted, he just couldnt be. He couldnt forgive the pain of his past, the teachings that were pounded into him, and the fear would always consume him.
