wow. today was FAN FRICKEN TASTIC!

I had jury duty today.
Yay!
It was okay. I saw ZZ TOP (well, not the real one) and he was reading a "Dummies guide to: CROSS STITCHING" xD
And there was a pro-basketball player in our midst. I don't know who it was...Marcus Candi or something like that. He played for the san antonio nuggets some time ago.
And I got to recap with an old friend from highschool. I gave him a ride home and we talked. It was nice.

And then I went to danbury to wait for a phone call about a job interview. All day I waited for that phonecall. All day I called them to see if 'beverly' was in.
It wasn't until 5:30 until they called me and told me that they had filled the position at 8:00am this morning. WTF?! HOW RETARDED IS THAT?!

OH! I also found out I have a COURT DATE. MY THIRD ONE FOR THE SAME THING! It was for a speeding ticket, I took an online defensive driving coarse which cost FOURTY DOLLARS. I passed, and the very next day I took the paperwork up there so that I wouldn't have to deal with that crap ANYMORE.
THEY LOST MY PAPERWORK!
So I called the defensive driving thing, and they informed me that it would only cost me another 26.19 to have it sent to me...But I could call the driving record place and maybe they could send it to me for free.
So I called the other place. And they told me since I did it through a third party, they didn't have the record, that they could send it to them, and then they could send it to the court house. So I called the other place back and they told me that I would STILL have to pay for a new copy!
GUH! WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CITIES MISTAKE! I TOOK IT TO THEM! AND THEY LOST IT!

Now! To the REAL crusher.
I am a MAJOR animal lover. I hate to see strays. And I hate to see them out on the streets. Believe me, I cry when I see an animal hungry and scrounging through garbage.
Well, I found a dog on the highway on my way home about 2 weeks ago. So I pulled over, and she came right to me. I put posters up to find her home.
Now my 'land-lord' has informed me I have until friday to do something with her or he's taking her to the 'HUMANE' society.
HUMANE MY ASS.
How can you call yourself humane when a single fault in this intelligant animal compels you to put them down!
THEY CALL IT EUTHANASIA!
I CALL IT MURDER!
She would have BETTER LUCK on the STREETS!

I would hope that these people would have a little more compassion. They don't care for her, they don't even go into the backyard where she is at.
I feed her everyday.
I make sure she has fresh water everyday.
I TRAINED HER. She knows to sit, stay, lay down, roll over, leave it! AND IT TOOK NO MORE THAN THREE DAYS TO TEACH HER ALL OF THOSE!
I knew I couldn't keep her.
I knew I would have to find her a home.

I can't kill her. And by sending her to the animal shelter, i'm sending her to her death. This animal has a soul. She is intelligent.
There is something about her that sets her apart from all other dogs that I have ever cared for. She isn't too old, but she's older than what the shelter wants.

So, on Thursday, i'm going to go sit in the Walmart parking lot with a GIANT posterboard that will read:

"FREE DOG TO GOOD HOME. TRAINABLE AND SMART!"
And I will explain why I am sitting in the walmart parking lot instead of taking her to the animal shelter.
I am not going to help in the KILLING of this beautiful dog.

I feel like it's my job as a generous and patient human being to give her a fighting chance.

I know that if I were a dog on the streets, I would love it if someone would take me in, feed me, and love me...Even if they weren't going to keep me.

And I know she appreciates it. You can see the happiness...Her tail is always wagging.

I can't type anymore. I feel like i'm going to burst into tears just thinking about it...

The jury duty sounds fun.
I think you get paid for it, like twelve dollars a day or something.

But the rest of the things are just awful. I understand what you mean about the city/government in itself being made up of a bunch of incompetent idiots. -shakes head-
Outrageous for the defensive driving people to charge you 26 dollars just to send the paperwork, though. I mean, omfg. I would understand a small payment for shipping, if any at all, but twenty-six.dollars?


It sucks to hear about the dog, too. =/ So many people consider animals like an 'item', especially with puppies. You have the animal for a few weeks, get bored of her/think it's /her/ fault that she won't do what you ask her to, and then just dump them.
Sometimes it's at animal shelters. Sometimes on the street. Sometimes they just toss the dog at a friend willing to take care.

What makes me mad to no end is when people don't bother to take the time to research dog psychology or find out anything about them.
The reason why your dog is tearing up the sofa and demolishing your shoes is /not/ because 'it's a bad dog'. Animals don't have the capabilities to be consciously be 'bad'- their minds don't make the same connections as we do.
They do what their instincts tell them to do.

Anyway, sucks to hear the bad news. -hugs Maromi- Hope things will get better for you, and the dog will find a good home.

It doesn't matter Pat! It's human nature to blame others.

It's okay, though.

I put an ad in the paper for her, and i'm going to take her to my mothers' house tomorrow. Hopefully someone will call for her and take her, and train her and teach her what else she needs to know.

She's till young enough, so...

I just had a horrible day yesterday
And then to make it worse, Rooka's history disappeared on me...And I was two sentances from being done!
