They always say time changes things
Drat. She had been so certain that she'd been leading her stormy-coated, handsome companion to a place she knew to have underground cave-like dens which they could have sheltered in. Instead, she found her nose scenting the obviously banners of yet another Pack group, one that she had never smelt yet. Mia had thought of turning around and trying to find that unmarked territory that others knew as Sinopa, but the sky rumbled and roared at the two nomads, drenching them in a continuous torrent of rain that seemed to grow ever stronger, pelting the rain upon them until it almost stung Mia's unkept, pretty fur. Ears slicked flat against her shaggy nape, and astonishing green eyes narrowed with determination, she slunk on, focused on finding just one place that could shelter their two bodies, his quite large, and hers considerably fragile and small. She had figured, once the drizzling had started within the apple-covered territory, that she had just a very small amount more experience in these lands than this Zeedani did, so she had taken command after being reassured that he did, indeed, want his company, and this 'lover' of his would not have minded. He had said "if she still be breathing"... Mia's mind shied away from the thought of any wolf close to this gentle creature being deceased, like her father. She did not want her new friend to feel the woe she had felt when Damerae had died from old age.
The trek became ever more weary as the grassy plains ascended into a gradual uphill slant. Although it seemed as if a rainstorm, or possibly even a hailstorm, would start quite soon, Mialeika still couldn't help but notice the beauty of this particular area. Flowers, coniferous trees, rose bushes and calla lilies, bright green grass that hadn't yet been dried from the sun, ivy... it was all here, spotting the large hill that she led Zeedani up. Her eyes took in everything, the intricacy of it, how all these different life forms were gathered upon this one hill. As she viewed her surroundings with sidetracked eyes, she finally spotted an area that would suit their current needs. "Zeedani," she barked softly, the urgency in her voice vibrant. As she spoke his lovely name, she bee-lined toward two trees that were unusually close together upon the hill, whilst all the rest were scattered. One seemed to be bent, it's trunk twisted and weathered. And behind the two trees, which leaves were large and able to shelter seemingly anything, was a very large rose bush, fragrant and blooming.
Mia's ears perked up as she finally reached her new destination. Immediately circling in the 'corner' of one tree and the bush, she shook her scraggly pelt thoroughly, and let her sopping ears droop, flopping herself down without a care in the world how ungraceful the movement may have looked to her earth-cologned companion. The ground was relatively dry, considering how much rain was now billowing down, creating a haze in which the world outside of the little tree hut that Mia had found impossible to see. She sighed. So much for travelling. It seemed as if this would never stop. And as the most important thing in her mind was now taken care of - shelter, of course - she could now distantly remember Zeedani's wonderful lilted accent speaking to her... switching her position so that she could gaze at Zeedani, who was still sopping wet and standing, with her brilliant eyes, she said quietly, calmly, as if there weren't anything harsh going on just two or three yards away from her drying body, "I am from a big, blue water. I lived in a forest there... me Papa and I call it Caribbea."

=-------------------------------------= ~ The downpour was refreshing and amazing! Zee stood there a moment, snapping at the rain as he followed Mia. The femme decided to take the lead forward as he was trudging afterwords. He was rather content with her leading and already his trust in her was growing. Regardless, the rain was starting to get vicious. Yet, the forming hail was not enough to quell his grin.
His ears perked as he heard his name. Yet the little event was bittersweet as his ears were then invaded by the intense rain. Zee began to shake his head vigorously as he followed Mia to a small cave entrance. The path blocked by dual trees and a single rose bush. Which in turn made Zeedani grin. Again, it was the way the red and green clashed, even more so in the cold blue hue of the rain.
Now, entering the shelter of the cave. Listening to the drowned out cadence of the rain outside. Followed loudly by a display of thunder. Zee was rather happy to be within this shelter, which was lit by only the dull blue hue of the sky. Otherwise, it has turned to darkness until Zee's eyes adjusted. Now, he was gifted by the sight of the femme again. He then collapsed, letting his coat dry without shaking the worst off. Odd, it was yet Zeedani oddly like the fact.
It was just how his body seemed to cool down as the water evaporated. Regardless, it was just part of the fun. Yet, even now... he turned his focus back to Mia. Rather glad to be out of the rain. He listened, rather interested on the fact that she lived in a forest in what she described as big blue water. Which would mean she was in a forest that bordered directly with the coast. Best of both worlds really... Zee got an instant pang of envy with grinning jealousy.
" Dis fores' sounds 'mazin eh. Yeh it mus' 'ave been 'ard eh? Bein 'urrounded by de coas' " He voiced with a obvious interested tone in his voice. Enjoying the conversation and the sounds of the outside menace. Yet, the thought of being surrounded by ocean was daunting. Just a single coast was harsh, and entire ocean surrounding you sounded horrible. In a good sense anyway. OOC::/ Done, And I do not think it was worth it... yet, Ive tried.

They always say time changes things
Her eyelids, head, and even her mind suddenly felt considerably heavy, and she let her proud, rain-sodden head lower to rest upon her muddy paws. She wasn't tired so much as physically drained, and she forced herself to keep her brilliant vermillion gaze to keep from blurring. She didn't want to miss out on this amazing creature that had so suddenly and amazingly entered her care-free life. His stormy, coal-gray and frosty white fur was laden with precipitation, and her gaze brightened considerably as she watched him plop himself down with just as much grace as she had done, obviously not thinking nore caring about how much longer it would take to dry out each single, long hair of his handsome pelt. His words caught her off guard, though. Hard? Being surrounded by a coast? Her brow furrowed deeply at this new piece of information. Judging by what she had told him, she connected this so-called 'coast' to her big blue water, for her strange, tropical rainforest had, indeed, been surrounded by it, except for one side of it, in which she and her father had left Caribbea from.
Realizing that he was thinking of her cherished rainforest to be difficult, a very small gasp exhaled from Mia's parted maw, and she woofed softly, "Oh, lad, no, not at all! It was beautiful, this coast you speak of. And the strange creatures on Caribbea - so amazing! Long-legged, brown-furred things swung from tree to tree, threw bananas at me. And there were these rainbow colored birds, too - I can speak to them, ye know..." her voice trailed off as she lost herself in the onslaught of thought that ensued. She did not recognize at all that she had just told this wolf she had very recently met that she could, indeed, speak to birds. Instead, her sparkling eyes became clouded by all the memories she had...
The femme with pelt of mixed colors was back within the confines of the rainforest once more, at the side of a solid light beige-red colored tom, who was much more tall than she had been at the time. His amber eyes were kind, fatherly. She could almost feel her small tail wave bach and forth like a banner as her father pointed at the strange cawing creatures with his moist black nose. They be beautiful, are they not, little Mialeika? The bright, colorful creature had promptly flown down to perch upon the teenage Mia's back, as if on cue, and she had immediately begun circling in one single spot, trying to get a complete look at the magificent thing. And she head heard it! It's voice, appraising her for being so curious. Since then, parrots, cranes, seagulls, they had all been extreme friends to her, because of that simple introduction Damerae had made. Mia also remembered the playful, mischievous monkeys, though she did not know they were called this. Their long legs had miraculously thrown half-peeled yellow fruit at her, and she had been too frozen by the way they moved their legs like that, that she had always forgotten to dodge the soft bananas. Her loving father had always chided her upon not being more alert, but she had never felt the need to watch her back, lively as her spirit was.
Sighing with the grief, and also the happiness, that the memories brought her, Mialeika closed her vibrant eyes temporarily and murmered, very softly, "Looking for the kettle of gold, you forget about the rainbow..." It had been her dead father's favorite saying, and the saying by which she now lived by, finding the simple things in life, and seeing the hidden beauty in each little thing.

=-------------------------------------= ~ Zee sat there, rather lost in the way Mia's voice drifted about the little accent that even he himself held. Yet, she was able to speak in a flowing manner with it. Regardless, He listened and felt rather foolish for his comment. He meant it on for certain rains or nature effect. No matter how beautiful they were, one had to be careful. For in that beauty there was danger, danger was always something he had to fight against. Even as he did notice the way a certain patch of grass grew lilies in such a fashion it made his heart swell.
Yet, Zee was taken by the saying. A simple saying that meant so much to Mia, it oozed in on how she said it. Engrossed in nostalgia... it slipped out as if it was her soul. Zee saw this and was taken by the saying in itself. Meaning quite a lot on how it was formed. For it preached what many pack wolves did these days. Look towards the goal... yet miss everything else about them. Never appreciating the world as it was. Saddening really.
" Dat 'ayin... 'uch 'here naw? " He voiced with a overwhelming grin, playing the wording in his head various times. It fit Mia as it did. A warning, yet a reminder. He couldn't help but think of how it meant to him... Yet, Zee wouldn't dream of taking what Mia seemed to speak of as her soul.
Now, he jsut focused on her figure. Recalling that while small, she was a beautiful creature, one who seemed awfully tired. They said seeing the beauty out of every living thing was important. What you should do no matter how the clouds wash away the details. Zee followed that when he was younger. Almost blindly,... he still does, yet now a days. He notices the beauty that is not hidden. His mind drifting towards thoughts of Kima for a moment, her smile tugged at his heart silently.
Was he going to find her? Of course... of course.
Turning back to Mia, Zee regained his grin, blue gaze caught momentarily by her sea green eyes. Then subtle distracted by how the blue hue of murky rain made the cave seem serene. Making this into an almost romantic setting did not not wish for such. Zeedani felt suddenly disloyal, if not painfully so. So he slowly creeped closer to the entrance. Aiming is gaze outwards.
" Ih beh 'eadin 'long dah 'iver in dah 'ornin. Fer dat beh da bes' 'lace tah 'earch. " He started, obviously un-aware how Mia was feeling. For he did not put much thought into it. Kima was stuck to him at the beginning because he saved her. It grew because of that. Mia, just seemed to be following him because he was new to this land as she was. He could not possibly hold her interest for that long. Regardless, he aimed his blue gaze ehr way. Staring longer than what was necessary. " 'ould, yah 'ossibly wish tah help Mia? " His voiced seemed to quiver, the fact his soaked coat was dripping possibly made him sadder than he was. Yet, regardless... this was being hard. For Zee just needed time to find Kima. Possibly come to terms that... " 'he migh' beh 'ead... "

They always say time changes things
Her pretty, petite head snapped up suddenly, as if she'd been shocked, electrified, stunned, frozen, or even burned. Mia's eyes, which had been closed just moments before, were now very wide open, the violant sea-green sparkling with their intense surprise. A thousand, no, a billion thoughts raced across her mind at hyper speed, and she went temporarily dizzy. Her deep red-brown ears flattened, but not with hostility. They flattened with the sudden stress that this one simple question caused her. For some strange reason, she just knew that trekking, trying to find his long lost mate, would cause her hurt. Hurt. Something she had not experienced since her father's departure from their travels, something she never did want to feel again. Yet, at the same time, this journey he invited her to join could take a few days, or even a year... a lot of time to become much more acquainted with this specimen she was so intrigued by and so attracted to. Her decision, for the first time in what seemed to be her entire lifetime, was torn upon her own pain, and his own wants. Don't leave already, Zeedani, her mind seemed to whimper mechanically.
And just like that, Mia knew she much accompany him, or lose part of herself. For, in the small amount of time she had known this foreign wolf, she had grown attached to his oddness, and his simplicity. Especially that lopsided, pup-like grin. She wanted to see that for a long while. She could not grow tired of being around his perky attitude and obvious care for life, which was so much similar to her own. Stepping back one or two pawsteps, she whimpered suddenly, unexpectedly, and extremely unsure of herself, "Your mate... she will meet me..." Her eyes shone with just how distraught she was at the thought. And her thought was that Zeedani's lover, whom she pictured to be beyond comparison, beautiful and lively, due to his lifestyle, would be everything, and she would no longer matter. Although, how could she matter now, anyways? He had known her a mere quarter of a day. But alas... joining him on his journey was such a natural pull to her - travelling into the unknown once more.

=-------------------------------------= ~ Her true being seemed to always be shining out of her eyes. Innocent and care free, yet trust worthy and sincere. Zee was lucky to run into her first and not some other wolf who might bend him to their will. Yet, regardless... that same personality good will was her slight downfall. It made her hesitant where there was no need. Still, no one should bring her down for such a thing. It was all good will, " Ih 'ill no' force yah Mia... 'esides... weh beh s'uck 'ere 'ill dah rain beh 'one." He echoed, his grin coming back with a reassuring tone. This all seemed vaguely familiar. Yet, Zee was too overwhelmed to attack the idea and find out why.
" 'ish tah 'ell more of yer 'omeland? " Zee asked with a grin that showed genuine interest. For it was how he was, loving to find out things about those he accompanied. To loyal to be confident enough, Yet wise enough to know when the odds of life were stacked against what you wanted the most. Who knows? He might have been separated for longer than he could have guessed! Weeks possibly. Life would not end because what he dreamed for would never come. He had to be patient sure... yet everything was showing on his hopes being impossible.
Yet, now... he listened. Perking his drying ears towards Mia as his blue gaze quietly focused about her. Darting about her figure silently as he pondered options, fighting within himself for how he was to continue on from here. He might never see Kima again... Yet, he could not just lose hope without trying. That would not be fair to her. Yet, He was liking this Mia, no matter how painfully hard that was to do right now. It was not hard to like how she was... it was only that he had the thoughts of Kima clashing with everything he did. He just needed time to work this all out.
Now, he was sort of afraid of the responding question on himself. He could not remember much of his old home now. Going further into his own past would only bring pain... Yet, if she asked. Maybe Zee could say. Maybe.

They always say time changes things
The way her mind worked was simple, never clashing with different opinions, never thinking twice about a decision, never lingering over something in the past. As this was the case now. Her companion easily skimmed over her statement, which had caused her so much temporary trouble and worry, even uncertainty. As his rough, rather calming vocals pointed out that it was, indeed, quite a storm outside their small abode, Mia found herself once more folding her body - this time a little more elegantly - against the hardly moist grasses underneath. She also noticed, with just a tinge of sadness, that she felt lonely, although she had a great companion with her. It was because of her lifetime of closeness to the beings she knew, especially her father, Damerae. Their fur had always been brushing against one another, a constant reminder that they had each other's back. Her vermillion hues gazing contentedly at Zeedani, she pictured him nestled close to her, sharing warmth against the breezes that broke through their one-night shelter. And she found that she liked the image she envisioned.
Dazed with her day dreams - or rather, dusk dreams - Mialeika flinched as a considerably large thunder clapped overhead, seeming to be very, very near them. Her body tingled momentarily as she gained control over herself once more. She had not experienced a storm such as this, not even when she had lived within the rainforest. A very low, wondering whimper escaped her slightly parted jaws. It was not one of fear - more or less, it was one of awe and admiration for the power that nature held. She was predominantly sidetracked from even Zeedani's wholesome looks as she watched the sky and it's many flashes. It did not seem like a drought was coming, but even though it was raining, the air was still intensely dry. A sure sign of the coming troubles.
The handsome wolf's question brought her back to their current conversation once more. With an almost inaudible sigh, Mia let her memories flood her for the second time, and she sank into their depths. As her exotic-sounding voice came out, low, soft, and practically longing, her eyes half-dropped. "There were big spotted cats... they be frightening, but they stick to they own business. And there were pigs... big pigs. With big fangs. They hurt, I be bitten by one once. Most creatures were nice, though, like me papa. Swinging animals were playful, but never tried to hurt me. Birds always had somethin' to say to meh." At this point, Mia's tones dropped to a dangerous growl. "The human beings... they did no harm to Papa or me. But they put me birds in cages, took them away on big swimming metal... It hurt me whenever one of me friends was taken from me." Her eyes got a strange, hard glint to them as she remembered the pain she had experienced after each of the birds - which she was connected to mentally - had been kidnapped. It seemed as if she had been put in a cage, and she had often gone into frenzies, envisioning herself in a confined space. These were her nightmares from then.
Deep in thought, she found herself ranting a little more than necessary, yet again. Glancing up apologetically at Zeedani underneath her long lashes, she murmured, "I want to know more about you Zeedani...Zee?" The name seemed to fit him right, roll of her tongue easier... and most of all, match her own. A smile touched her lips and lit her eyes as she thought such a thing. Once again, she found her stomach doing those strange flutterings.

=-------------------------------------= ~ " Zee 'orks. " The storm colored brute chuckled as he said so. Hoping to relieve any growing tension or such that might only be himself. It was strange to see himself near another femme so soon, even if he was thinking carefully on how to go about it all. The longer he looked at Mia, the more comfortable he felt, yet he could see how much she reminded him of Kima. Again, his heart turned about itself, grinding away the fact that Kima was gone. Zee himself was trying to swallow the fact. He lived in the today... and knew that the depressing sorrow would one hurt him in the long run.
" 'ell, " Zee started, visibly swallowing the words that he was about to say. His own past was not exclusively bad. Only that sorrow or grief just makes his day rotten. " 'as 'orn in dah moun'ains. 'one mo'her und weh beh 'xiles from da 'earby 'ack. Da moun'ain 'ere 'mazin, yeh dis 'lace is 'ore den I 'ould imagine! " His voice sprung around as he began to tell his part. Reaching highs and lows regardless on how the tone was. Zee was an accomplished storyteller by now. Regardless of his speech. Many pups in the packs he did visit loved hearing from his strangely twisted words. All of them understood though... which was heart warming.
" Den, in bu' a 'ew day of meh hi'in jus' 'wo 'ears... 'he 'as killed by 'ome bru'es. No' 'uch af'er dat. I 'egan tah roam! Dat beh da 'ife I 'njoy. 'eein new 'hings... mee'in new 'olves. 'ow ih 'hould beh! " He ended with a grin, loving the fact that regardless on how it used to be. Sadness on his mother's death was now as painful as it used to be. For he had come to terms with the death... because of Kima. The natural high was thrown down as he fought to keep his grin. Succeeding as he shivered a moment. The winds becoming cold as they forced their ways into the cave. His foolishness catching up with his as his coat continued to dry.
" 'colder dan I 'hought.. " He murmured a second before being assaulted by another shiver. His grin emboldening again at himself. Always foolish, never beyond that... Zee could be over seven years and still do stuff as this. Putting his life in danger just for the sake of trying new things. Foolish... yet it meant the days were never dull.
Yet, now Zeedani threw his blue gaze back at Mia. Admiring how for being as small as she was. The femme was able to keep herself strong. Her figure was pleasing to his eyes, her personality was nearly golden as well, Zee had the sudden urge to want to hear her laugh. The smiles already were golden. Regardless, He had to see or not, if Kima was gone or just around the corner... Most likely gone. Yet, he needed to know before he started to pick up a new life here. There was defiantly a interest forming here...

They always say time changes things
Her dainty ears pricked attentively as the smokey Zeedani spoke of these mountains. A possible recognitive flash crossed her vivid emerald eyes as her mind dove into overdrive. Her vibrant memory drew a brilliant picture for her as she remembered trekking through a very cold, blinding white substance in the mountains, with her father before he had died from his retiring age. The powdery ground had astonished her, seeming hard in patches, almost slippery, and then in other areas, it would disappear... and, of course, she would disappear in it. Remembering those days, Mia knew automatically that she would live in that winter wonderland anyday, over the scorching rays in the desert. Not to mention the scorpions. A shudder caressed her blotchy, mixed-toned body momentarily as she remembered the painful stinging sensation of the scorpion's steel hard tail. She would not try to play with one of those again.
Gazing intently upon her companion, a feeling of warmth ever growing within her very veins, Mialeika couldn't help but wonder if he had been born and raised within those very mountains that she had travelled through. But, alas!, he had mentioned a pack, and she had seen no creature like herself, other than her dad, the whole time that they had been as high as the very sky, surrounded by the airiness of the clouds at the top of the mountain. There was no way to be positive, for after Mia had experienced those mountains, she had had an inner revelation that there were many more in the world that she knew - and Zeedani could have grown up on any of them.
Thinking thoroughly about the possibilities of the mountains, the coal-gray and white male's puphood somehow coming into the picture, she couldn't help but wish that she had been part of his young life. To know him then, when he had been a wee little thing. He still seemed to have those pup-like traits now, so what had he been like when he actually was one? Much like herself, most likely. Grinning full out, each and every one of her teeth glinting in the duskiness of their shelter, Mia's expression was not at all threatening, although one who would imagine a wolf would think it would be. It was dazzling, charming, heartwrenching especially, because she meant it for the wolf in front of her. In that instant, her heart seemed to become alive as if it had never been beating before, the image and presence of Zeedani it's life source.
Mia did not know this. Not yet, at least. "You come over here if you do not mind it..."

~ The storm colored wolf did pause... if only for a moment. The offer was not confusing in its wording. Yet, confusing that She would possibly allow him close enough as it is. Zee has just had the pleasure of meeting this Mia, yet already he was feeling the pricking of yearning in his heart. There was a void now, one that he wanted to be refilled eagerly, Kima was dead... he knew it, yet... Mia seemed well enough interested in him. Honestly, he was to her, she had an aura of familiarity that Zee was craving greatly right now. It was odd, for he was enjoying all of this new land more than many would guess.
Still, the offer was heart warming. Mainly because he was stupid enough to freeze himself to death. Flanks dry enough yet, the ridge along his back and upon his scarred scruff were still damp from the bulk of the rain. Each passing breeze that echoed into the cave was equally cold as the water it accompanied. Since his spine was wet, it was rather frigid as the breeze past over, causing the rest of his body sorrow in the respite.
Taking a moment to study Mia, trying to tell if she held any malice behind the offer. Yet, seeing none, Zee nodded. A grin of thanks being disarming as he picked himself up. Feeling a day of firsts in his bones as the excitement turned oddly to exhaustion. Yet, it was a good feeling of a day well spent. Even if it was twinged of worry. Already, as he made his way around to where Mia lay, the air was slightly warmer since it was farther from the entrance. There, Zee rather collapsed near the femme, trying not to get to close for personal sakes. Yet, failing as he normally does. Brushing up against the femme for a quick moment before putting in a respectable distance between their bodies.
Yet, even from this distance, the warmth that radiated from Mia was intoxicating. Something he savored greatly even in that small connection. It made his heart sick, knowing that such a thing was what he enjoyed much from his relationship with Kima. With someone there, he slept deeper, enjoyed their presence more than the surrounding nature. Now that was being replaced by Mia. While not Kima. She was starting to become a rather delightful acquaintance. Only thing Zee would have to see before he was stricken was on if she could have fun...
Maybe after the rain...
The thought was oddly comforting as he slowly lied his head down on his fore paws. Enjoying the sounds as his ears rotated, watching the breathing of the femme besides him in he side vision. " 'oes ih 'ormally 'ain like dis? " He asked, voice in in the elast bit complaining. Yet, he knew that Mia might not have been around long enough to know. Regardless, things would pick up once the rain lessened... he was looking forward to such.
